The Moonlight at Ryedale House

Don’t go unless the no cold water issue in both on suite bathrooms have been fixed can’t shower. Positive: Quite easy to collect keys, however no key fob for the door which also required for rececling bins. Negative: No cold water in both on suite showers or bath. Very dangerous as scalding hot water and couldn’t take a shower the whole stay. In the draws in bath bedroom in draws tags in it so obviously not cleaned well. Balcony covered in bird poo which is worrying when you see signs out about regarding bird flu area.. No key fob for the door which is also required for glass recycling door.

Perfect Positive: Location Negative: Nothing

Positive: Great location within short walking distance of the city centre. Quiet location. Negative: Sofa’s worn and apartment smelt of deep fried food on arrival. Had to call emergency number on our first morning as water from the shower was scalding and dangerously hot.

Ok.cleanliness below standard Positive: Safe secure parking. Near to central York Bathrooms large. Kitchen had everything you need. Beds comfortable Negative: Cleanliness in the apartment was below standard. Kitchen bin not emptied. Kitchen sink not cleaned The toilet that was separate to the bathroom- walls needed wiping down ☹️ One of the bedrooms not hoovered. Sofa in living room tired No information in the apartment re the wi-fi and how to use oven hob. These would have been useful

It takes MINIMUM to a new level. Check Stays York for a comparison. Positive: Location was as expected as we have stayed at Ryedale House with a diferrent company previously. Negative: Both the showers and bath only ran scalding hot water. We had to run a bath and top it up with cold water from the kitchen tap using the kettle to reach a safe tempreature. It took about 30 mins to do this each time. The balcony was locked and would not open. This was quite lucky really as there is a large pile of bird poo in one corner that has obviously been there for a long time. So no chance of evening drinks on the balcony. We expected a hard copy of instructions for the flat but it was not to be. Only way was by digitally on my phone. As we do not use this format and it was useless for reading we had a terrible time trying to use appliances and technology in the apartment. I really think you need to print a hard copy for those of us who struggle with technology, or at least warn them away from renting the property.
